Grant Awards Process and Priorities for 2016 The mission of Miami Homes For All is to promote community collaboration to prevent and end homelessness in South Florida.
For over a decade, we have awarded grants to community organizations that administer innovative programs that align with our mission and organizational priorities.
For the past three years, Miami Homes For All has utilized a Request for Application (RFA) grant awarded selection process that provided various organizations the opportunity to submit letters of intent and final application requests. For 2016, we have modified our grant process to seeking partnerships with nonprofits that will work towards fortifying targeted, systemic collaborations that will effectuate long term change and impact in our priority focus areas. In addition, our improved grant process will now include formal presentations to the Grant Committee as part of the final application process.
For FY 2016-2017 we anticipate awarding up to a total of $115,000.00 in grant funds.
To that end, we are seeking brief one-page letters of intent (LOI) from organizations that can provide one of the following services:
Case management that prevents homelessness from occurring through one-time emergency rental assistance or financial assistance for related expenses. Case management and assistance to support individuals currently living on the streets who are awaiting shelter
Legal advocacy that protects or increases access to affordable, sustainable housing
Youth-focused housing with supportive services and case management for unaccompanied youth experiencing homelessness (Up to 5 beds at $20.00 per day for one year)
Grant amounts will be determined based on the size and scope of the program, the number of applications we choose to support, and our overall internal grant awards budget. The awarded funds can be used to cover program implementation expenses only. Programs having matching funds allocated, as well as a sustainability strategy, will receive additional evaluation points. Attached is the Letter of Intent Form to be completed and submitted electronically to Barbara “Bobbie” Ibarra at BIbarra@miamihomesforall.org by July 18, 2016 at 5 PM. MHFA will notify all applicants whether or not they have been invited to submit a full application on August 1, 2016. Should you have any questions, we will be happy to entertain them until July 8th. Please send them in writing to Vicky Checo at firstname.lastname@example.org.
