From 2010-2016 Miami Homes For All offered emergency assistance in the form of one month's rent or a security deposit to local residents who have met a bump in the road in their life and have fallen behind on rent payments. This program differed from government and local rental emergency assistance programs because Miami Homes For All did not require an eviction notice before distributing the needed funds to the resident's landlord. Hence, it prevented the individual from incurring further legal debt due to an eviction notice. In total Miami Homes For All utilized $75,600 to prevent the potential homelessness of 135 individuals. This program was suspended once SHIP funds and other government programs started to offer increased emergency assistance.
