The Miami Coalition for the Homeless was organized in 1987 to promote community efforts preventing and ending homelessness in South Florida by establishing alliances with agencies and organizations. MCH is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of community leaders who have demonstrated a strong commitment to eliminating homelessness. The Coalition was instrumental in the creation of the Homeless Providers Forum, the Miami Supportive Housing Corporation, and is a founding member of the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust. The Coalition has also funded several community prevention initiatives, and has sponsored numerous conferences and educational efforts that target issues related to homelessness.
On January 11th, 2016, the Miami Coalition for the Homeless officially announced the re-branding of our organization to Miami Homes For All, Inc. Since our conception, our organization has sought to create formal alliances to breakdown silos within the homelessness sector and support all individuals who experience homelessness at any point in their lives. Today, as we acknowledge the severity of the housing crisis and the importance of bringing the issue to the forefront of policy discussions, we felt that our new name better reflects our rigorous efforts to prioritize and promote housing for all within Miami-Dade County.
Our work concentrates on advocacy, prevention, and informational services to enhance already existing community efforts and fill identifiable gaps.
